Funding
FAER (Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research) Research Fellowship Grant is meant for Residents wishing to do the Clinical Scientist Track during residency. This grant will support a one year fellowship following completion of residency.
There is department funding available to support resident's research. Please have your faculty mentor apply for support from our Internal Grants Program.
Scientific meetings
Residents are encouraged to submit abstracts in conjunction with their mentors to Anesthesia and related meetings. If you have an abstract accepted to a meeting the department will facilitate you attending that meeting.
Western Anesthesia Residents Conference
WARC is a premier opportunity for residents, students, and fellows to present work they have accomplished during their training. Each year the meeting rotates to a different sponsoring institution in the western United states and Canada and the size of the meeting has grown with representatives from each of these institutions. In order to allow as many residents and fellows to attend the meeting as possible, the WARC does not charge any registration fee. The meeting is therefore funded from contributions from each participating anesthesia department and from industry contributions. Last year Stanford hosted WARC, and we regularly have residents present their work at this conference.
